Spring Hiking Essentials

Spring Showers got you down? Don’t let them keep you in! There’s no better way to lift you up then to head outside and get siked on a new adventure. Here’s a gear list for your spring journeys so you’ll be prepared, no matter the weather.

                Lightweight Marmot Rain Jacket

This has got to be one of my top spring favorites, even for everyday wear. Super light weight, packable and water proof. Great for a warmer day hike in the rain. But easy enough to ball up a stow away in your pack for longer trips.

                Heat Holders Socks

I was turned on to these by a friend and oh man am I a believer now. These are great for those colder Spring days. You know the one's where you're not even sure winter has left yet? Yeah In the north-east we have too many of those days to not have at least one pair of these.

                Glovii Bluetooth Sport Headband

Now I love this for those brisk Spring morning runs. No worries of your earbuds slipping out or your headphones sliding off. This is the future people! And it's pretty awesome!

SealSkinz Men's All Season Waterproof Glove

There is pretty much nothing worse than wet cold hands... well, wet cold feet. These SealSkinz gloves are light, waterproof and flexible. Great for those in between seasons.

                      Outdoor Research Foray Jacket

This jacket is pretty heavy duty when it comes to waterproofing. Heavier than the Marmot rain Jacket but on those cold rainy days the added insulation is definitely appreciated. Plus I don't know about you but I like the color options of this jacket.

                      Outdoor Research Acetylene Jacket

This is a great transition jacket. The insulation of a light weight puffer vest but with a thin sleeve to keep you cozy but no too hot. Love this for shorter hikes.

                      SealSkinz Waterproof Trail Hat

This is a great trail hat! Waterproof, packable, and the drawstring makes it easy to keep on in those sudden downpours.

                  Black Diamond Storm Headlamp

This is great for when the day slips by you too quickly. Sometimes the best Spring days just are not long enough. Don't be caught with out it.

                    Marmot Gravity Windproof Jacket

It seem like a warm day... until the wind hits you. Be prepared and invest in a good windbreaker. Because the cold can make or break your hike this Spring.

                    Dry Guy Portable Boot Dryer

Lastly, but definitely just as important, a boot dryer. Nobody like smelly hiking boots or running shoes, so keep them dry. For when your waterproof boots fail (which has happened to me too many times) this boot dryer from Dry Guys is portable, and inexpensive and definitely appreciated.
